Transcription of the Will of Robert Barrett 1723-1779

In the name of God, I Robert Barrett of Prince George's County,
in the state of Maryland, being weak in body but of sound
and disposing mind and memory do now make and ordain this my
present last will and testament. First I will that all my just
debts be paid by my executor hereafter named. Item, I give
and bequeath to my son Jonathan Barrett, One bed and
covering,one young horse, one cow and calf, two sheep,
one Sow and eight piggs, one pot, one dish and 4 plates.
Item I give and bequeath to my son Isaac Barrett,One Bay
Mare, two heifers, two sheep, one bed and covering. Item
I give and bequeath to my daughter Elizabeth one Loom
and gears (?) belonging to it, One bed and covering,
one dish and six plates, one heifer. Item I give
and bequeath unto my daughter Sarah, one heifer,
one ewe and lamb. Item I give and bequeath unto
my son Robert Anderson Barrett, one heifer,
one pair of hand mill stone. Item I give and bequeath
unto my loving wife Sarah Barrett, two horses, 3 cows,
six sheep, one sow, and eight shoals, one bed and
covering, one dish and three plates, one cart and
all the remainder of my estate not heretofore given.
Also I hereby make and appoint my aforesaid wife, my
sole executor of this my last will and testament,
revoking all former wills by me heretofore made.
In witness whereof the said Robert Barrett to this
my last will and testament have hereunto set my
hand and seal this seventh day of April,in the year
of our Lord, One Thousand, Seven Hundred and seventy Nine.

At the foot of which will was thus written
Thomas Morris Prince George's County, to wit June 26, 1779 Came Thomas Morris
John Roberts and John Roberts, the two subscribing witnesses to the within
last will and testament of Robert Barrot late of said county, deceased and made oath
on the Holy Evangels of Almighty God that they did see the testator therein named
sign and seal this will and heard him publish, pronounce and declare the same to be
his last will and testament, that at the time of his so doing he was to the best
of their apprehensions of sound and disposing mind, memory and understanding and that
they respectively subscribed their names as witnesses to this will in the presence and
at the request of the testator and in the presence of each other. Sworn before
